The old hospital

The Old Hospital
When the hospital was completed it was regarded as one of the most magnificent buildings in the town. You will find the old hospital two blocks east of the Town Sqaure. It was inaugurated in 1842 and had been designed by the architect J F Åbom. In the begining of the 20th century the premises became too small and in 1905 the hospital moved to a new place. The old hospital then became a fire station until 1956. Today the building is used for school premises and storage-rooms for the Tingvalla Grammar School.
